Hi all! Very excited to say that I just bought a new to me 1997 4runner! It is an SR5 but pretty much optioned as a limited; Locker, leather, etc.

It's Imperial Jade Mica, its got 125,000 miles, Which is'nt too bad considering what other 4runners of this vintage had on them! I am the sixth owner and completely stoked to own this. I plan on holding on to it for a long time!

I cannot wait to get it registered on my lunch break tomorrow! Let me know what you think!!:D

Anyways heres a picture in the neighbors driveway, and have been parking in their garage. They currently do not live there and it might be hailing tonight so didnt want to have to hassle with the insurance company over that one..

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Mods are coming sooner or later, but right now its a DD. I'll probably lose the running boards and the chrome wheel flares.

The more I research this 4runner the more I like it. after a little bit of reading I've found out that this is a highly optioned 4runner for the year. which is pretty cool!

The rear end sags a little but its due to the tow hitch (OE Tow Package :D)

Anyone got some new springs maybe?

nice rig max. I think some folks take stock landcruiser springs and put them on the 4runner rears. Not sure. Could probably research it on yotatech or ask Oleg

80-series front coils into the rear of the 4Runner. A lot of lift but a nice ride.

Hey I have good stock springs and good 80 series coil springs. If you want them they're yours. I paid $50 for the 80 springs from slee (give me $25), but the stock would be free. PM me if you want 'em :D P.S.- I love my Runner... :thumb:

I'll take those front 80 springs from ya if he doesn't want them. Do the coils have 7 or 8 wraps? 7 wraps is what we are looking for - 18" tall.

Hey squishy, I'll take em'! I might be able to stop by burt at lunch tomorrow. Whats the difference between the stock ones and the ones from slee? are the ones from slee brand new?

Thanks!

Not to answer for Squishy but I'm sure both sets are used...The difference would be one set would be 4Runner stock springs and net you no lift but hopefully bring up the sagging rear :hill:. The 80 series coils would net you some amount of lift but I can't remember how much...So that would definitely fix your saggy butt :lmao:

Yes, I read it wrong! I'll take the 80 springs for sure!

I believe the lift amount will be around 3-4" with those 80 springs, depending on how much weight you have. Not sure what other mods are necessary to do this either, but I suspect it's more than just springs to get it all running right. Shocks, brake lines, panhard.... There are certainly better 3rd gen experts here and I hope they'll chime in, Jaderunner is one of them heck he's got his own web site, yodertech. :lmao:

I picked up about 4" in the rear with new 7-wrap 80-series coils...and that was with a beefy aftermarket rear bumper. It's settled a bit over time but it is still sitting at ~3".

I'm running Bilstein 5125s, extended panhard and longer stainless brake lines in the rear. My setup has run very well as it is.

Lance' is the hands on expert on this. I run OME's coils (882's) with trim packers in the rear now.

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. I just know my 4Runner and what I have on it.

We need to fix that...;)

Scott, if you're looking for stock 80 springs I have some. Not sure how many turns -- they're in the crawl space.
