Anyone up for the Monday night net tonight?
9:00 p.m.
What repeater are we hitting these days?

I want to test out the new J-Pole antenna that I installed on my roof this weekend. I have it connected to my HT. Karie and I tested it out a bit this weekend. We got an easy 5 miles, perfectly clear, from home to mobile rig running 5 watts.

Lots of chatter on 147.225 and something funky on 146.940 :)

146.460 has one end of a QSO (if you can call it that) between an unidentified operator who I can hear and someone (also unidentified) who I can't Op #1 is complaining about people shoving him off a frequency, and he is doing a fine job of proving them in the right by not identifying his station every 10 minutes. All he is doing is complaining.

Oh well. See you later.

I'm not sure anyone is anywhere :D

I've just been trying to listen for Matt's call sign on .460 and 147.225 but nothing so far...I figure I should be able to hear his call out as we are pretty close but maybe the 5W just isn't enough :(

I had no idea where any of you guys were at. I was monitoring 146.460, and getting a lot of static and chatter. What's the usual repeater?

I hate this HT. Way more complicated than my 7800. I have no idea whether I have it set up right. Romer programmed it for me.

I was hearing you guys fine. Did you end your ragchew?

Fun chat...Figured about 2.5 to 3 miles line of sight from Matt's place to mine and he was hitting me at about a 7...Not bad for a measley 5W and certainly better than CBs. I doubt I'd even hear him on the CB...Have to test that someday :)

Hulk
06-22-2009, 11:09 PM
Still monitoring. Keep hearing a little bit of voice with lots of static. Any of you guys?

I was on for a bit (since last post) on 146.460 and called out on the 145.460 repeater a few times. Don't know if it was linked (*10 to link?) but either way I didn't hear anything really except for some guy on 146.460. Sounded like he was just chatting away to fill the airwaves, not really saying much just taking up time.

Matt, may have been me on simplex.. but it also may have been that other guy..

Sheesh...

Nothing but a whiner for 20 minutes, I go to bed and you guys put up 1.5 pages of chatter? I am soooo glad I am keeping things running at work at 1:46AM...much better than a nice comfortable bed. It's even still friggen hot out. Went to bed at 9:30PM, back up to go back to work at 12:30AM. That's what I get to make sure things run long enough while the work is here.
