Did a run today with some friends in Crested Butte. Two FJCs, a Jeep and my FJ-40. Great views, light traffic and some "interesting" artifacts along the way. The jeep was just downstream of Devils Punchbowl. No idea what happened. T

 One of our favorite places in the state, even with trail junk on the trail! :thumb::thumb:;)

Beautiful! What difficulty level would you rate this? Did you come in from the CB side or Marble?

If you ask that Jeep guy this trail is really tough!

We started from the CB side, but we did Devils Punchbowl both ways. Both from Marble and CB. T

[/I] I would rate it difficult. An experienced driver with a rear locker, stock vehicle will be fine. We had a new FJC owner, stock vehicle, had a few scrapes, but did fine. TT

I almost did it years ago in my VW Thing but chickened out (had no reverse gear either). I have done lead king basin - beautiful. I need to run the punchbowl!

That picture of the jeep is a great example of why we will have far fewer trails to enjoy in the future. Throw in some ATV tracks off trail and it's a done deal. :(

Did anyone call in the location and plate number of the jeep to the sheriff's department? Looks to me more like it was stolen then rolled over intentionally than being a legitimate wheeling incident.

This was evidently a rental jeep. It had a note on the windshield. T

People argue Jeep, Toyota, Land Rover ... My experience, you can wheel harder in a Rental than any other type of vehicle ;)

When I was in Moab a few years back, we were with a guy that ran Hells Revenge in a rented Chevy Trailblazer.

Hopefully he purchased the optional insurance :hill:
