Old school parts for my 40. :zilla:

Finally got around to bolting my OEM Fogs and PTO on the 40 bumper. I had to order the fog lamp brackets from Mot in Japan. Dean got me the part numbers for the fogs. I wired them into the running light circuit since I didn't have an extra switch. They're pretty bright, but certainly not spot lights. I kept tripping over that darn PTO in my garage so I figured why not put it on the bumper. (and Subzali was harassing me about it ;) ) Hope it will motivate me to get that 4 speed and TC in so I can connect the PTO. :hill:

Seeing the fogs on your '64 is what made me want them. :thumb:

You have those wired up yet?? :D ;)

Way cool Martin:thumb:. I know a place near Cherry Creek Res. where we can score the PTO gear and shafts from a late 60's FJ40, we just need to make sure we get it under cover of darkness...

It looks great Martin. On my first 40 I had a PTO. I really miss that thing. Sixteen years old and an FJ40, now that was living!:)

You don't expect to see him actually wheel it do ya? That might put it in situations that could willfully lead to damage. :p: :D

Hey, all I know is he and I did Rose Garden Hill on the way home from CM '08, so I've been impressed at least once with both his (and my) trucks! That was an intense hill climb!

Want to caravan with me to Ouray In Your 40 - that's not on a trailer this year? Bring it on the Outlaws Run too, that will only be about 400 miles of dirt. :hill: :headbang: :zilla:

Ha! But some are gluten glutton for punishment. Lucky for us there are USGI boots in tan so that we can remain stylish walking with our sweeties in California.

Mmmmm - gluten. :homer:

Very cool Martin. So what does it take to "hook up" the PTO. Some additional gears?

Yup, add a gear to the TC and bolt the PTO drive and linkage in place. I'll also need to get the PTO drive shaft lengthened a couple of inches.

Did you connect it into the running light circuit, or did you have the OEM connections/switch in your harness?

I connected it to the junctions on the fender for the early cruisers and connected it to the running lights. I have the oem switch one day i'll add a relay and run it from there.
