For sale, 1978 fj40.

Good:
All doors in great shape, very little rust, solid. No Bondo!
Front fenders in very good shape, no rust holes
front of tub in good shape
Wheel wells solid
Good condition hard top
Newish mud terrain tires (31s)
Smooth running 2f, only a slight valve click
1/2 life clutch left
Good condition 4speed tranny and transfer case
Non leaking diffs
4.11 diffs
Warn hubs
New Toyota windshield
Front disks brakes
Calipers, brake booster, master cylinder out of late 80's 4x4 mini truck

New Rotors, pads
Straight frame, very little rust
Rear jump seats in great condition

Bad:
Rear sill needs to be replaced
Rusted out back part of bed floor (above and next to rear sill)
Right side rocker panel needs to be pulled out or replaced (dented)

PO did poor bondo work to right ride of body (frame is straight however)

Some panels from a 72 fj40, so different color
PO installed cheap aftermarket lights, front markers work, rears don't

Reverse light switch dead
Needs a new exhaust from the downpipe back.

This truck has a lot of potential to be a great trail rig or a good start on a resto. All the knobs and switches are on the dash and in good condition. All of them work. Glove box hasn't been doctored at all. Steel fuel tank was boiled out and doesn't leak, no rust. Speedo, fuel, amp meter, temp, and oil pressure gauges all work. Dash light works. The front seats are out of a late model 4runner, in good shape. The only floor board rust is in the back by the rear sill.

I also have a 72 fj40 I'll throw in, or you can take the parts you want. Clean running 1f with 3 sp and working transfer case. The body is in pretty poor shape. PO started rust resto but didn't get far. Tub would probably need replacing. To have it running, it would need some carb cleaning work. It would need rubber, and front shocks also.

I'm looking to get into another 78 fj40 in the area so I'm motivated to sell quick. I'm asking 3k for both. Good cantidate for a first timer. Please come on over and take a look, its a great opportunity to get into a running 78 for cheap.

Thanks for looking,
James
