Found this one today by the back door. When I prodded it with a long match it reared up like a crab and used its two pincers to grab the stick. It's really not all that big, but defiately looked bulky. Lage black body with red color on top half of body. Definatey not a black widow. Anyone know what it is?

Jumping freaking spiders. There is a HUGE spider right by the spigot in our yard and we have a live/let live arrangement. But now I'm just freaked out. I was going to wander out there and make sure that the sprinklers aren't programmed to go off tomorrow and that is right next to that spigot. Jumping spiders. Maybe I'll go take a picture of it.
