Mr Polis has now heard from me.

That bill will never fly. The BLM/Forest Service doesn't have the means to manage that much "wilderness", and the oil/gas/mining lobby has a lot more clout than SUWA.

my response from ed perlmutter, who apparently doesn't have anyone who even bothers to read the letters his office receives.

Dear Ingrid,

Thank you for contacting me about conservation. I appreciate hearing from you on such an important issue, because it enables me to better represent the beliefs and values of our district.

The preservation of our public lands is an issue of high importance to me. It is for this reason that I co-sponsored the Udall-Eisenhower Arctic Wilderness Act, as well as the America's Red Rock Wilderness Act. The Alaska Rainforest Conservation Act seeks to designate specific lands in the Tongass National Forest, Alaska, as wilderness areas or components of the National Reservation System. Please rest assured that I will continue to work closely with my colleagues in Congress, as well as organizations such as the Wilderness Society, when it comes to protecting our public lands from excessive development.

I encourage you to continue to contact me about the issues that are important to you. Please visit our website www.perlmuttter.house.gov where you can also sign up for my electronic newsletter and receive periodic updates on my activities as your Representative in Washington.

and my response...sorry, i should try the flys/honey thing, but i just couldn't. i did seriously hold back tho...

Dear Mr. Perlmutter,

Did you even bother to read my letter? I am vehemently against the Red Rocks Wilderness Act. I am vehemently against any New Yorker dictating how public lands on the other end of the country are run. I'm not overly fond of the Udall-Eisenhower Artic Wilderness Act, so I apparently need to be vehemently against Ed Perlmutter.

Since you are among the many Colorado politicians that apparently gives no consideration whatsoever for the people of the state, I will add you to my 'Ritter is an ass' list of people not to vote for and I will make sure that everyone I know and don't know is informed of your anti recreation stance.

I got the same reply also.

Not only do we all get the same copy and pasted crap that shows our emails were not even read but we cannot reply because that box does not take incoming messages and when you click the link they provide to their site it is broken.

Better to hand write letters and snail mail them.
