I bet these parents are in a world of **** when this is done. I hope the kid comes out of this ok.

Holy cow that thing is moving! wow.

its actually circling one area it looks fast due to the film coming from flying helos that are really zooming in on him

Now estimated at 500' elevation...
10-15-2009, 02:36 PM
Wow!!! understatement of the century, but man that landing could have been a lot worse. talk about gentle...
10-15-2009, 02:42 PM
no one came out though...
10-15-2009, 02:52 PM
Well now what? hope he jumped out early, and the kid is ok.
10-15-2009, 02:56 PM
Ugh... That is awful. I hope he just let the balloon go accidently and now is hiding somewhere in the neighborhood because he thinks he'll be in trouble. :(

Too much "misinformation", or lack of real information...but if this turns out on a good note it will be a miracle...I read earlier that a sibling reportedly saw the boy get in and untie the balloon from its tether.

One of the news agencies said someone saw something fall from the ballon and they are searching. Makes me want to go hug my kids . . . . damn they moved out, have to do that later
10-15-2009, 03:22 PM
this is really sad. i hope the kid somehow is OK.

The boy's father Richard Heene is a known storm chaser. During an appearance on the television program WifeSwap, Heene and his wife, Mayumi, focused on their love of science.
I saw that episode of wife swap. That guy is outta his mind. Total nut job.
I'm wacked out for watchin that crap but it makes me feel like i'm a normal person .. :D

punk kid is hiding in the garage attic.
the bill their parents get might teach them how fun a joke like this is....

Glad to hear the kid is alive...
I imagine the "rescue" cost to this family could prove to immense...Can the family apply for some bailout money? :hill:

That kid is in for a Whoopin!

Looks like AxleIke had it exactly right or the kid was put up to it. I did make a "hey timmy fell into the well, no he was hiding in the barn" comment at work earlier. This was about when it was at 500 feet and about to land.
Glad the kid is ok but from what I have seen so far with those parents the kid is far from ok.

International recognition (BBC, Al-Jazeera, etc.), Google News headline right up there with Pakistani terrorist attacks - if you wanted publicity then here you go.

This guy didn't have the sense to hide in the attic.http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2008-16.html

I'm glad I didn't waste any time watching this crap. What a media circus (my dad told me). He was pissed they broke into regular TV so he missed Dr. OZ. And what a nutcase dad having that thing in the backyard for kids to screw with and stop air traffic.

the whole story has finally come out
after the balloon landed they checked it over for the boy ....
but the rescue crews failed to report that they did find something in the balloon ....
they kept it to themselves ....
