Well I don't post very much but I check the site every day. I am in the middle of my project which I bought 3 years ago bone stock and preceded to tear apart and install:
SOA + 2.5" black diamond springs
Front spring flip
metal tech Family cage
high steer
front discs
fj60 steering box / saginaw pump
aussie locker rear
CB
38x12.5x r15 Super swamper tsl's
custom front and rear bumpers
And I sprayed the whole truck in and out with red bedliner
I have at home waiting to be installed:
A classic cruisers sm465 conversion kit
sm465
metal tech nose guard and stinger
Longfields

Soo I need help does any one have any suggestions on a machine shop to turn down my front cover of my sm465 and a decent transmission shop to rebuild my sm465 in the north metro/ Boulder area?
Thanks,
Ben

I just had my 70 FJ40 3 speed transmission and transfer case done at Transmission Tech on Arapahoe and 63rd in Boulder. They did a nice job, not necessarily cheap, but I've done business with them on other occasions and have always been happy with the work.

I'd be interested whether your experience is similar to mine. Hope you get it sorted.

I don't know if you are interested in doing it yourself but here is the link for a master rebuild kit.

I just did one of these on my 465. For $190 and an afternoon of work it was well worth it to do it myself. As with everything I've gotten from Novak the instructions were excellent.
As for a tranny shop to do the turn down try calling Hillside 4x4 and talk to either Alan or Brian and see who they would recommend. They usaully have really good recomendations.

Is the 40 orange with a Chevy motor in it? If so I met him at HC4x4 when he was picking up some parts.....very nice guy we spoke about land cruisers for 20 minutes or so.
