Just starting the search. Here's the wish list: 2003 or newer, less than 70k miles, no mods, little or no off-road use, maintenance records. This will be a family car/grocery getter. I've budgeted $20k. I'm in Boulder.

Leads and opinions welcome! Thanks.

You will be very happy with it. My friends jut got a 2003 w/60k. I think they paid $23000.

You've read Slee FAQ correct?
http://www.sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbieUZJ100.htm

Be aware that at about 70k-100k the starters need a rebuild. Also the 100k service is spendy so factor that in if you're looking at something close to that in miles.

Thanks Farnhamstj for the note.

It was Slee's write-up that steered me towards the 2003 cut-off.

Thanks Nak. That one looks clean and I like the idea of doing business
with a Mudder, but I'm holding out for a 2003+.

There aren't very many out there, so I expect this search will take a while.

If this is the one at the Subaru dealer please let us know what you paid for it if you buy it. I was looking at it online yesterday and they want a lot of money for that thing. Good luck!:thumb:

Yes the same one. I paid $21162 including all fees/charges etc. except state tax. That includes a list of various fixes they are now doing (removing bling, two bulbs out, etc.) plus a limited 1k warranty.

I'll post a pic once I pick it up.

Congratulations! That was a significant drop from what they were asking.:thumb:

They had it for $22.9K when I first called ~2 weeks ago. It took
about a week of negotiations to bring them down (and me up) to
where we ended up. I'm happy with the deal - 4 new Dunlops,
90k service done, etc.

I see it's (still) listed for $27k on the Subaru website. (I bought it from the
Toyota dealer, same owner as the Subaru dealer). That's insane.
