Anybody have any pictures of a FJ60 2F? Specifically I'm looking for the location/bracketry where the air conditioning compressor is mounted. Any special holes drilled in the block, or where do the brackets mount? Thanks.

Are you trying to ID an FJ60 2F block? If so, can you look up the engine number?

I think the AC stuff bolts to the engine mount bracket that bolts to the block - so no extra holes in the block.

I'm considering using a NipponDenso compressor rather than my Sanden idea for OBA. The question is whether I would have to do anything other than use factory bracketry to mount it up to my '77 2F. I guess I might have to get a different engine mount bracket if what Bruce says is true, I'm assuming it would still bolt the same way to my block and to the frame but would have to look into that...

...the only other question is whether it would intefere with a dual battery box on that side of the engine bay, since I would like to leave room for a potential future dual battery upgrade...

well i just realized another issue will be the radiator hoses - not sure I want to deal with that. we'll see.

the 2f in the 40 has a neat spot for a compressor... slightly above teh alternator and closer to the block. It uses the alternator bracket. I'll try and snap a pic sometime this week.

Jeff, is that a 40 or a 60 motor? I thought my 60s had the alternator on top and the AC comp on the bottom. Does that bracket common bracket botl to the block or is it the engine mount bracket?

Bruce, what you describe sounds like my 60. My Alt. is on the top, middle/PS of motor, AC comp. is down below.

Robbie's got my 2f out doin' some stuff to it, include AC comp - I bet he could chime in with some recent experience.

from IH8MUD...i thought this was from an FJ60, but it doesn't show an AC compressor? Maybe it's just a later 40 2F with no AC?

That is not from an FJ60, it has the slot on the big ole nut for the hand crank. On the FJ60, this is a nut with no slot. All the FJ60 2Fs that I have seen also have a three row crank pulley. The thermostat housing and water pump are also missing the connections for the oil cooling line. Presuming these have not been changed on the engine, I would agree with you that it is a 2F from a 40/45/55 of late 70's vintage. :thumb:

From an 84 FJ60. Originally from Treeroot, then to Timm, then to me, Now Mike has it. I took a bunch of photos for just such an occasion because it appeared stock, fully smogged and unmolested. ;)

I thought all 60s were the same - both my '82 and '84 had the alternator on top. In Jeff's picture, I can't tell if its a 3 row crank pulley or not.

3 row. For AC.

Let's resurrect this thread.

I found this information on belt routing:
http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/175913-fj60-belt-routing.html

There's a couple diagrams that show what the belt routing is for US and Canadian spec Cruisers.

But what I don't know is what row do each of the belts go on? Can someone take a look at their FJ60 2F engines and help me out? Right now my guess is:

1st row (closest to engine) - Crank-Water Pump-Smog Pump
2nd row - Crank-Alternator-Power Steering Pump
3rd row - Crank-Air Conditioning Compressor

It would be super cool if that was right.

EDIT: Based on some more reading I think it may be like this:
1st row - Crank-Air Conditioning Compressor
2nd row - Crank-Water Pump-Smog Pump
3rd row - Crank-Alternator-Power Steering Pump

In which case I need to do some more thinking...

EDIT AGAIN: Found some pictures, looks like my second guess was right:
