Anyone have a stock E brake cable that will fit a 1974 FJ40 with the factory drum type emergency brake? Mine just snapped. Do any of the after market companies sell these?

Mine snapped one evening when TheBoomBoom was setting it. I got the new one at Toyota. It was one of my early projects on the truck. Sorry I can't help with input on other sources than Toyota for the cable. It brought back memories reading the thread on my replacement (http://risingsun4x4club.org/forum2/showthread.php?t=6886&highlight=brake+cable). :D

Specter Off Road's price for OEM is cheaper than Cool Cruiser's price? Wow.

Quit pulling on it so hard Randy. Why not go to Ace hardware and make your own, shouldn't be that hard and I bet cheaper too.

What a huge pain in the patooty this has been, just trying to find the part. I tried the "just have Ace HW" make one for you: No Way, the cable is too unique to cobble something together that would work reliably.

The cables CCOT sells are not the right one for my rig. I think I found one at Classic Cruisers (should be here Saturday) after the first few they sent were wrong. Turns out this was a unique 1 year only style cable for 1974's equipped with 4 speeds. Sheesh.
