View Full Version : Pipe Bender?

I need to make a couple of bends for my new mid pipe. I dont really want to buy a bender right now (the :Princess: has cut off my new tool funds). Does anyone have a pipe bender I can rent or borrow? The mid pipe is pretty simple and the bends dont need to be perfect since I will be replacing my muffler section and all the old hangers. I have some room for error.

you need a mandrel bender for exhaust, or a tubing bender, as a pipe bender will crinkle that suff

Hmmm... Maybe I will just take it to an exhaust shop. That bums me out.

Or... Maybe I'll just buy some pre bent tubing and rig up something. I need to go cheap on this for now and I want to get my money's worth out of the welder I just bought. I'm not sure I want to throw too much more money into this engine since it has 175,000 miles and I might go with a V8 when it dies.
I am assuming an exhaust shop would charge me at least $300 for a custom mid pipe and muffler. I need new hanger hardware also.
I was charged $140 for a new 12 inch flex pipe on my Previa which I recently sold. Ouch!
