View Full Version : Are Car Dealers using a new Math?

I was looking through the car ads today out of curiosity, and all the ads had the same thing

MSRP 25,000
Rebate 5,000
Your Cash 5,000
On sale for $15,000

Now isn't this really on sale for 20,000?

A couple ads didn't say it and then when I went to the fine print I saw it there as well.

I should have used this when I was selling the trailer

"My Jayco is 8,000 but if you provide $2000 in cash, I will put it on sale for $6,000:rolleyes: "

Registration for Cruiise Moab is only $150 (after $25 of your cash)

Rising Sun Dues are only $30 (after $30 of your cash for other things):D

People have been falling for that crap for a long time. Look what happened with "cash for clunkers." IMO people got excited about a the thought of having a new car and probably never thought about having a car payment, larger insurance payment, and much higher registration fees. :blah::blah::blah:
