Two things, anyone know where I can by jerry cans (water & gas), metal or plastic? Also I need some exterior parts (small misc, not doors) for my 85' FJ60, any junk yards that have this vehicle? Thanks!

Yotayard has your parts or maybe Oleg.

Slee has some nice cans:rolleyes: or you can buy them at another 4x4 shop.

4 Wheel Parts has new jerry cans with mounts and spouts for $45, which is pretty good these days.

Expedition Exchange has a nice supply of Wedco cans, although the non-CARB compliant cans are no longer carried.

Free shipping on orders over $50

I ordered a set of these a while back and I'm very happy with them.

I've sourced a few actual Scepter fuel cans off ebay and out of Canada. But those are getting harder to find.

Just curious, why would you buy this can & spout online for $50 plus shipping when you can get the same exact thing plus the mounting tray and strap at 4 wheel parts for the same or less? They are in stock and there is no waiting.

Cause that's how I roll :hill:

Actually, I've had mine for 5-6 years...Sitting in the basement with all my other FJ40 mods

Same reason you buy a Toyota over buying a Hyundai? :dunno:

except in this case you're buying the same product just from a different source..........

Sometimes it's important to people where they buy. In this case I dunno if it matters, 4WPW or Expedition Exchange. But I could see paying more to Christo or Kurt or Paul May since they help us out a lot.

Does 4WP sell Wedco cans? From what I recall, they sell Blitz cans. Similar? Sure. The same? No. If you can get a Wedco can at 4WP for cheaper than EE, then I guess it comes down the the choice of where you want to spend you money. EE supports off road communities that I am a part of, so I don't mind spending my money there.

But if we are talking about Wedco versus Blitz, then my research (having never owned a Blitz) is that the Blitz spout has a reported tendency to leak. The Wedco on the other hand is a NATO-spec can used all over the world, and locking cap design is leak proof. The non-CARB cap creates a super tight seal, and is protected by a slide pin that keeps the cap safe and secure. I've traveled a number of times with cans in the back of my truck next to other camping gear, and never once had a drop of gas show up.

I'm pretty sure the Blitz cans are a nice product, and certainly far and away better than the cheaper plastic alternatives (Scepter excluded). But they are not the same as the Wedco's.

Ok, thanks for all the info about cans, but I recall that awhile back someone was talking about FJ6's in a junk yard that was in good shape? Any ideas about junk yards?

afaik that one and the fj80 are gone. there is only white fj80 iirc.

The FJ80 has rs 9000 shocks if anyone is interested in a low cost upgrade. front axle is torn down and the interior is stripped and the motor is a cash for clunker.

there's an 84 FJ60 at the yard here in Durango as well as a pig.

that sucks...that brownish 80 was immaculate compared to mine and yet mine's still on the road and thanks to the obamanation, that one has been crushed!
