Lots of discussion on Expo portal about tent heaters.

Lot of people use the Mr Buddy Heaters

http://www.mrheater.com/product.aspx?catid=41&id=24

Even though it says it has a low oxygen shutoff and is safe for tents. Several (on expo portal)still have concerns about carbon monoxide (CO) despite the manufacturers claims. Some even recommend running a battery operated CO monitor when running the heater

There is consensus that having it on while your awake if fine. Kurt williams even posted he turns it on before he goes to sleep and then off when it gets the RTT warm. He then turns it on in the morning.

The 9000 BTU Mr Buddy is normally $99. Lowes is selling them for $39 to clear them out for the season. The only lowes on the southside with these in stock is at Quincy and Buckley. They have 4 left.

They had to go into the back as they were packed up for the season.

Just thought I would let folks know. I wouldn't run it while I am sleeping all night based on the concerns w/o at least a seperate CO monitor. Short durations to heat up the tent should be fine with good ventilation.

I figured for $39, it's something good to have on the shelf

I went to Lowes at 136th & I-25 and all they had was a larger 18000 BTU unit, and they had 7 or 8 of them. It was marked down from $129 to $69, but was pretty big and more than I wanted to drop. I would have pulled the trigger on a $40 heater though.

Good find, I want one but don't really need one. I would like to have one for the Dodge and the RTT. Maybe I will take a drive out there and pick one up but most likely not.
