Anyhow I was looking in some other sites on mud and found this thread about a out of print book about this race. Sounded too good to be true. So I went to barnes and nobles and ordered mine. Looks like they have a few more copies left in the "out of Print section" of various pricing. You may need to read most of the thread to see about Barnes and noble or jsut take the title and find it in the out of print area if you are so inclined. Or wait a couple of months and you might be able to borrow mine. ;)
I should see mine in a week or 2.

I can not wait to see some of the pic's:thumb:

Here is the link

Very cool. I love this stuff too.

Two years ago (the 100th anniversary), the NYTimes did a big story on the race with a bunch of pictures:

New York to Paris the Hard Way, 100 Years Ago (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/10/automobiles/10RACE.html)

Oddly enough, the thing that got me interested in it was the movie The Great Race (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059243/). It's very silly, but one of my all time favorite movies.

Jack Lemmon is great as Professor Fate. "Push the button, Max."
