Tim are you near a town? Snowing pretty bad here.

How about a milemarker to help pinpoint your location

03-19-2010, 07:43 PM
Mile marker 386

03-19-2010, 07:48 PM
seeing what I can do. I am on the west side of town and have family in from out of town along with all 4 kids and a sick Amber...going to be tough to get out of here until later...

03-19-2010, 07:48 PM
That places you 23 miles east of Limon.

03-19-2010, 07:52 PM
he and Cindi are ok. they are about 20 feet off the road, lost control over a bridge. roads are slick but not much snow out there. he will need a strap or winch to get back on the road, will need someone to bring a tire on a taco rim, and probably will need someone to tow the trailer to his place in Aurora.

03-19-2010, 07:56 PM
I also just talked to him. A tow truck driver came by and took his tire and said he would take it in to town and fix it. He may get back on the road, but towing a 12ft dbl axle trailer with no brakes with a 4 cyl is going to be a problem. I'm going to check around here and see about heading out to help

03-19-2010, 08:01 PM
also 2 wheel drive and bald tires...

03-19-2010, 08:08 PM
I'm heading out to help. Hope he gets that tire fixed.

Keep us updated Tim....If any more help is needed I'll try to keep an eye here if possible

Wish I would have seen this sooner and I might have tried to hitch a ride with Ken

03-19-2010, 09:05 PM
I just got home after 13 hours in the air so I can't go tonight. I am willing to go in the morning with the diesel or 40 to pull anything that needs it.

03-19-2010, 09:23 PM
I don't have Ken's number but I can go out and help in the Dodge. Plenty of power to pull if there is traction or anchor Ken to winch. Call me I am at home 720-981-0306

03-19-2010, 09:37 PM
Just spoke to Ken, he is 50 miles out. Roads are bad. Tow rig is there with the tire and is going to pull him out hopefully. Then Tim will drive to Limon where Ken will take over the trailer and tow it home for them.

It is a twelve foot double axle I believe, if someone nearby has a garage they can park it in overnight so they don't have to unlad it tonight that would be great. They are coming down I-70 to Aurora I believe. Will repost this as its own tread too.

Posted up in the other thread...Have Ken give me a call if I can help in anyway. Sounds like something along I70 or 225 would be perfect vs. coming all the way down here though

03-19-2010, 10:00 PM
Yep, but isn't Ken close to there? Can't remember.

Yep, but isn't Ken close to there? Can't remember.

He would have to drive by his house to get to mine which is fine, just can't see him deciding to do that :) - But, I got tarps, rope, and I'm generally up real late so maybe :thumb:

03-19-2010, 10:07 PM
That would be freaking awsome if possible. Because I also have about $2-3,000 of tools in the bed of the tacomas well. That I'd rather not leave outside over night

Hey Guys, just saw this thread. Unfortunately I am in no condition to drive anywhere right now... but I do have 15-16' of garage space to offer. We'd have to squeeze it through a 8' x 8' garage door though. We can get more space even if we start stacking things.

Give me a call if you need it my cell is: nine oh one three five nine one eight two seven is my cell, call ANY TIME. I'l also have the HT on Colorado connection monitoring. Ken, I just tried to call you on Colo Con, but got nothing.

PS my garage does not lock and I am in Boulder. I have never had a problem though.

I'm not far from 225 and 25, but no drive-way and getting a trailer down the alley and jockeyed in would be a manual labor affair and I haven't even started shoveling the alley. Doesn't Tim B. have that shop up near I-70 and 58th?

03-19-2010, 10:17 PM
Just saw this thread too, unfortunately I'm a state away and unable to help.. glad to see some others jump on this so quick though. :risingsun

One bay is filled with Mike's car and the other has Tim's *other* trailer already there...although I bet we could jockey stuff around

03-19-2010, 10:42 PM
Already thought of that but I highlly doubt we'd be able to back her into the door. We could throw the 40 hard top ontop of the 12' trailer and remove the m416 trailer compleatlly. But otherwise that would be great because I need to dump the crap that's in the bed of the taco there anyways. Amd how much snow does that area have ? Igy??

Ken just showed up

03-19-2010, 10:51 PM
I had to shovel for about an hour tonight. It's about a foot deep in the driveway here in Boulder.

Have Ken calls if he needs my help...I may be away from the computer

Just seen this as well. I can head out now if needed!

03-19-2010, 11:51 PM
Just saw this now. Unfortunately, both my garage bays are filled with non-running 80s.

03-20-2010, 01:26 AM
Thanks for the offers of help. We are all back and safe. Cindi rode with me on the way back and now knows the beauty of an 80 :D

Weather eased up on the way back, was almost white out on the way there

03-20-2010, 02:00 AM
Yea. We just got the taco un loaded now and all the tools up into the apartment lol. Ken. I can't express enough how greatfull I am that you'd drop what your doing and drive 100 miles one way to my aid. The roads were kinda cleared up by the time we got back. But ya never known what could have happened, again. Let's hope tommorw is nice and pretty, and perfect. So I get the trailer from Ken and un load it all.

03-20-2010, 08:53 AM
Wow I just saw all this. Glad it all worked out and you guys were able to help Tim. Reminds me on when I moved here from Ohio in 2003. Our 26' uhaul with one of my Jetta's slid off the road between Kansas City and Topeka in a ice storm on the toll road with the 3' tall shoulders with everything I owned in it. Very scary moment.

Tim and Cindi I'm glad your safe and home.

We are all back and safe.

Big  Ken.....nice work.:risingsun

03-20-2010, 10:35 AM
Glad you guys got it sorted, thanks Ken for driving out there, really really awesome that you were able to do that.

03-20-2010, 12:18 PM
Wow...glad to see that nobody was hurt and that Rising Sun Rescue Network is still in full force! I'm a cripple, so I don't think I would have been any more help than I am reading this thread a day later. Glad to hear things worked out. Ken, you are the man!
