Does anyone with a FSM know what they should be at? Also, what are the winch to winch plate 3/8" bolts supposed to be torqued at? S#$%bilt isn't returning my calls.

Well I came up empty :( - I have the electronic copy here at work which leaves a bit to be desired as far as navigation is concerned....

This might help: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/installation/FJ80_Rear_Bumper.pdf

If I'm thinking of the right bolts, Slee suggests 70ft/lbs

If that doesn't help, check out the attached .pdfs and compare your bolts

As for the winch, I just made them as tight as I could get them, which is probably wrong but its what I did :hill:

Not really a tow hook as much as a tie down when they load them on the big boat. But we use them as such. I would not torque much more than 70lbs as well. Use some sort of antisieze as well, life it be nicer when you take them out.

2 or 3 grunts for a skinny guy like you. If you have a beast of a friend helping tell him only one. :D

I just downloaded some fastener torque charts that should work. I'm reusing the tow hook mounting points for the Metal Tech bumper. Thanks all.

Go until the bolt breaks and back off 1/2 turn.

Just a good 1/2 second zap on the air impact should do. It's not that important anyways. Lol :hill:

huh? That's funny I was taught:

"Tighten 'till it feels funny, then back off 1/4 turn."

I was also taught:

"yeah but a crossed thread is a TIGHT thread!"

I was taught similarly that cross-threaded is tighter than lock-tite.

Love this forum - I needed torque spec and here it was. Off to go break bolts.....

Bolt on the far right was from front ARB mount. Farily degraded. Middle was from rear hitch. Good shape. Left is new from AAA Metric. $.98 M12 x 1.25 X 60mm

So far rear ARB mount bolt through tow point will not come out.
