It was an April fools joke, in case anyone is thinking even less of me than they did before. 100's rule

Little known fact that model numbers are actually a % of how cool your Land Cruiser is.

Except Wild Rice and Whatever Randy calls his 40. Mods count for bonus points.

4runners, mini's,taco's, FJ's, ext. they're all cool but not ranked useing the same grading scale.

Land Rovers are not cool. Ok some of them are, but many are not.

Hardly. Says the guy driving a RN110. FWIW, the current 5th gen 4Runner is a GRN250!

When I lived in Africa I had a 2004 2nd Generation Disco like the one in your photo except it was red. It had a 1.8 liter 3 cyl turbo diesel in it with an automatic tranny. It got 32 mpg on the highway, 22 arounf town and was quite the little beast off road. With the smart 4wd system in it, it would go through mud in places where the Defenders with lockers struggled. It went through the sand dunes of Namibia great with just the tires aired down. If they sold the diesel version in the US I would own 1 in a heart beat. If you put a 4" lift on it and 35's it would be a heck of an off road machine.

You can tell it's a LR by the drip mark on the floor under it.

I don't care what the naysayers say, those are nice looking rigs...:D

If I had a ton of money and a mechanic on call 24/7 I'd probably own one just 'cuz :hill:

Shhhh....we all secretly think they are cool....we just don't want Gary to think we approve of what he does!

I recall making more than one person here a believer in my rover once upon a time.

oh - and having owned 80's and rangie's, as well as being around a lot of d90's, 110's, disco's and series models.. I can tell you that there is little to NO difference in the cost of repair or parts between the 80's and series 1 rangies and disco's. Series II disco's and rangie's are like 100's with live axles. 100's aren't cheap either ya know...

Dang that thing is way cool. Maybe we can convince RS to become a Toyota and LR club :)

I've wheeled with that guy back in the days of the solihull society. Don't remember his name, but that 90 is actually only mildly built. He had different axle inners and cv's, different links and the lift of course and arb's.

My first 4wd rig was a series IIA Rover. I think I'll own another some day.

I dig the trucks, but I did break a lot of parts on that thing. Axles, tranny main shaft twice, diffs. It also litteraly bled geear lube from the porus tranny casting.

But again, I'll have another one someday. They are cool IMHO.

I saw Graham on my way to work today, rolling in his diesel 110 with full cage and other "accessories". One of the coolest trucks on the planet.
