View Full Version : please pray for my wife
04-04-2010, 09:11 PM
shauna has been at st. joes since last saturday, 8 days now.
she has meningitis, swelling of the blood vessels in her brain and (i can't spell this) ensephilitis.
we had seen some good improvements over the last three days but today took a turn for the worst.
today she had a seizure caused by some minor bleeding on the brain.
we don't know yet of any long term effect from any of this. we can only wait and see and have faith.
please pray, send good vibes, anything!!!!

another ct scan and no change.
she was taken off her breathing machine and sleep meds to she how she would do.
she could breath on her own but could not get her to wake up or come out of her coma.
she would flinch when pinched her hand or tickled her feet.
time will tell.

shauna is now at a rehab facility.
she's doing well and seems to like it just fine.
she now has a BIG window to look out of which is nice.
today was a good day. she had a bit of therapy this weekend and we were able to get her outside for awhile.

it's been to long and i had to see what i said in my last update.
today may 21st 2010.
shauna is in a hardcore rehab facility in aurora co. she has been there 1 week today.
2 weeks ealier than expected!!
she is eating real food.
is off the trake and that has healed up real nice. still has her feeding tube for the time being but i see her getting that removed soon.
she played some air hockey w our son after P/T yesterday. they both loved it and was good to see that her reflexes are there, quick to!!!
she is up on the paralell bars w/assisted walking.has good leg strength but they are really concintrating on getting her core strength/abs stronger.
she can read, write, feed herself, comb her hair and brush her teeth. all in slow motion right now untill she gets her strength back.
took her outside last sunday in her high-tech wheelchair and she loved it!!!
they also have a huge bird cage there and she loves watching and listening to them.
the three of us even had dinner together sitting down at a table for the first time in two months last night.
we are so proud of her drive and will it blows me away.
