Looking for a clean set of rear half doors for my 40 so that I can have something back there with the hard top off. Please PM me if you have any that will fit a '76.

Thanks!

Won't be a direct fit. You'll have to drill holes

Yeah, I am going to use the existing top hinges and figure out another route other than drilling the bottom hinge holes. Not sure yet how I am going to do this, but I'll figure something out. If anyone has any creative ideas, let me know.

How about a tailgate? Then you might only have to drill for the lower hinges. The latch could be mounted in the same spot as the ambi door hinges.

Paktops (http://www.paktops.com/) is selling Ehsans body parts.

Yeah, I think they were around $500.

Here's the cheaper option.

Real Steel on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360193455525&crlp=1_263602_263622&ff4=263602_263622&viewitem=&guid=2580c4a71240a04372c05dd0ffd83fdd&rvr_id=&ua=M*F%3F&itemid=360193455525)

It doesn't fold down like the Paktop version, but it requires no drilling either. :thumb:

Nice. I am hoping to spend a little less than either of those, but it's nice to know that the option is there. Those are sweet.

It will be tough to find a stock tailgate or barn doors for less if they aren't rusted out. If looking stock isn't important, JTO sells some plain aluminum tailgates. Here. (http://www.jtoutfitters.com/aluminum-tailgate-cover-smooth-p-3348.html?osCsid=usvsggln8vpkdhl067m8qusen4) Or you could probably buy some aluminum and build one.

So, did you get your 40 yet?

Thanks, Martin. I am going to try the used route first and we'll see what happens.

Picked up the 40 yesterday in Phoenix and it loads on the truck tomorrow morning...

Thanks Martin. Just broke 70K miles. Very clean desert truck that is amazingly original.

I have the Aqualu tailgate. Not OEM in the least, but it works great.

Here's the one I have (smooth, no storage). (http://www.aqualu.com/4010%20aqualu%20part.jpg)

Here's the whole list. (http://www.aqualu.com/aqualu_land_cruiser_jeeps_and_suzukis_004.htm)

Thanks for the link...those are really cool. I tried to bid on an Aqualu last week on Ebay, but it went REALLY high.

Luckily, I did win an auction yesterday for a set of half doors from a '73. I am going to restore them and mod them to fit on mine without drilling holes; should be interesting.
