Starting yesterday, there have been frequent 'server busy' and 'database errors'. I think the wind blew the internet down. :)

Hello,

This error is caused by the global cap on the servers max connections being hit. This was most likely caused by a user using more than his fair share of resources. At this time the server is at a low load and responding quickly. Also, i've reconfigured mysql to deter these errors from continuing. Could you please check and advise whether or not these errors continue on your end? I am unable to recreate them locally at this time.

Let us know.

"Server too busy" errors have been pretty common today.

I opened a ticket this morning. HostGator said they were having a server problem and it should now be fixed. Seems much better now than it was this morning.

Hulk... Just got the message... thanks for opening the ticket. We get this issue every few weeks with a barrage of errors hitting. This is the first I've seen people complain/report about actual front end issues from the back end hiccups.

I haven't seen any of these messages all day. Maybe it's happier now?

Thanks for the updates guys. The admin team is looking into this further. It sounds like even though we made changes in the right direction to move our images out of the DB and into flat files on the server, we're still having performance problems querying the database. If a query to the database takes too long, then it gets aborted by the system and you get an error.

The team will continue to look into other options for upgrading to our own dedicated server and/or considering a new host.

No one else seems to be complaining so I assumed it is just me. Ever since the recent "maintenance" the RS site is so sssssllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww! I figured it was my firewall but it still creeps with it disabled. I have cleared my cashe and have done all the other optimizing tricks and nothing makes any difference. Am I just special?

No, it's not you. It's extremely slow for me as well.

We're still working on it. We made some additional tweaks a few days ago. Please keep telling us how it's working.

Only skimmed over a couple time so far today. It does seem better but still hangs.

FYI:
Hello

The server your site is on is experiencing a technical issue with mysql at the moment. Our administrators are working on it and do expect to have everything back online shortly.
