View Full Version : parting out a built 40

So the 40 Tim and I bought last year has a spun bearing, and spending money and time to put in a new motor to *maybe* break even does not make a lot of sense. Plus Tim has a 4x4 truck now and has no need for the 40, and I certainly do not need another project, so the 40 will be parted out. Here is the MUD thread:

http://forum.ih8mud.com/parting-out/387691-built-65-fj40-350-denver.html

The tires and rims are sold (or will be) but pretty much everything else is up for grabs. Volume discounts. :) Will be starting to tear it down this week, let me know what you want. You are welcome to drop by and take a look and help tear off what you want. :thumb:

it is at Tim's in aurora now, but probably will be at my place in the next week. One guy is driving down from the mountains to look at it, if he passes I will be tearing it down...

How much for the lights that go in the front under the headlights? I have those openings on my 69 and I need to fill them with lights.

You should probably buy the entire bib with lights Randy...The way you drive, you're bound to need it sooner or later :D

If my concern about your opinion of my driving was measured in gasoline, there wouldn't be enough gas to run a piss ants mini-bike once around a BB.......in other words, try to imagine how little I care :D

early models don't have the metal cover over the tank, they have straps. metal cover came around 73 or so

Hope this is helpful Randy!

'69 FJ40 Gas tank straps (Also the same set up on my '72)

First pic is looking from the firewall looking back at the front of the tank mounted under the passenger seat.

Second is side view looking under the seat from the passenger side door.

I'll take the hood if it is a two piece, split hood. And then I'll have for sale a later seamless hood off of my 68'. I pay cash. Dean.
