Just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who showed up for the Argentine Pass clean up. I counted the names on the volunteer form and we had 27 people in attendance! A great day, beautiful weather and we quickly got the area looking good. We cleaned some campsites, picked up litter, moved some trees, hung some signs and hung out at the Santiago Mine. The snow has melted fast this year and it won't be long till we can get to top of the pass.

Thanks again. Post up pics if you've got them. :thumb:

What a great day! Lots of help, many new faces. There was even a guy in a Chevy pickup who just showed up at the trailhead and asked if he could help. We said heck yeah! His pickup came in handy when we found a fiberglass truck top in the woods that wouldn't fit in anyone else's truck.

We got some pics of the fun:

Had a great time on my first run with the club. A great set of pics, a day full of memories and a nice bag of garbage to top it off. Thanks all for making the new guy feel welcome.

Guys, it was my wife Pam's first run with the club and she thought it was great. I told her our 60 could swim and now she knows! We are very lucky to have a USFS pro like Martin. Thanks for a great day!

Hey great run, enjoyed getting to know some of the newer folks a little bit..

That water crossing was the highlight for me, especially Gator's 40 and John in the stock height 60... wow.

Man I'm glad I didn't have to drive my truck through there.. :) ;)

Great job Rising Sun! Does that culvert need to be addressed? Looks like it's washing out a little?

Jacket
06-21-2010, 11:07 PM
Yea that culvert was in rough shape - the snow melt caused all the dirt around it to wash out, so it was moving around freely. It was near the top where the road forks and heads up to Argentine pass to the right, and there's a short road to the left that dead ends at a turnaround. The culvert was on the road to the left.

A little Carnage

Well this is an update on my goof, Oil pan needs to be replaced (but think that was up at ICRP), Front lower control arm needs to be replaced (they asked how much air did I get), Knuckle is needing replacement as well and I'm getting an AllProOffRoad Spindle Gusset welded to it and I'm getting their Front control arms as well, and my back shock busted again and this was the right size one this time so I'm going back on the hunt for another set. I was looking at changing out the lower control arms for some from Total Chaos but they cost $1600 a pair and without the aftermarket parts I'm already looking at a bill of $2500 or more for the yota parts and labor...so I guess that this might be a good time to say I'm backing out of a lot of runs this year:( but I vow not to be a stranger, or no more than I am already.

How did that happen? I guess I was oblivious that your rig got tweaked.

So you did bend the control arm after all. It's interesting how obvious it was that something was bent based on how the tire looked - but just looking at the control arm it was hard to see an issue.

Bummer man.

Yep she did not hold but I did have fun after the hit, and not so much on the 3 hour ride home going 20 but I did get her home. And it does suck but it was all my doing and I did have a blast!!!! And it just means I'll have more of what I wanted done to my car with out the ability to go play with it since I'll be working of my last fun time after a day of picking up trash. I'm planning on making the rally and Bill Moore Lake and maybe try to make CM2011, but I'll have to be playing REALLY safe on that one.

And I forgot they are checking the bearings as well....fun times:thumb:

Yes...But HOW did you muck up the FJC? What in the heck did you hit to cause that much damage

Anyone who has seen me go through cars knows that this is nothing, plane and simple I was going to fast a thought I had enough room to get by a rock that was sticking out from the dirt at about knee high...completely of my own doing, I would say maybe the altitude had something to do with it but that would just be stupid.

I just made all of the orders I need to fix and up grade it, I'll soon be rocking new Total Chaos UFCA with AllProOffRoad Spindle Gussets and bump stops and Ricohet FLCA skids....as well as the Bud Built.com front stainless steel skid........she'll soon be all dressed up with no where to go.

Brandon - You are always welcome to grab a seat with us on any run you'd like. We always have something open and close by, so just let me know when you want to go! I'm sure we'll have one available! :thumb:

Thank you very much:bowdown::thumb: It's more about the reasoning I have of that time on a trail or getting to a tail can be used to pay back the loan I've had to take, I can get it all payed off this next month, but feel I would be over working myself and the main goal is to pay it off by September.

Did anyone get any pics of the first water crossing on the lower trail that shows the creek overflowing the bank? Or the Creek flowing down the trail? I also could use some pics of the washed out culvert that was higher up and a better description (or GPS coordinates) of where that is located. The FS wants this for repair work. Thanks!:thumb:
