View Full Version : Panning for gold while wheelin'?

I am thinking of heading over to Empire soon and running Bill Moore lake. I noticed that cool abandoned mine last time I was there, are there any legal things to consider before panning in the nearby stream/creek?
Thanks! You will know when I hit it rich when I start driving around a :kevin: :thumb:

I would think you would need to know if there is a established mining claim or not. I need to do a bit of looking into this. I know where a good place to get some bucket of black sand to bring home. But it is on state land, a very old mining claim that has been given back to the state.
At 1100 a ounce, it would be nice to find a few ounces to play with.
