Three of us went to check out whether this trail was totally bulldozed or might still be somewhat of a challenge. There were three main areas where it was bulldozed and was way different than what we have experienced in past years.

One was the off-camber tilt along the creek bed. It is now level. The second is the off-camber downhill after the upper cattle guard going down to the main road at the end of the trail. The third is the lack of the tripod-hole at the upper part of the trail where we had a flop last year.

It appears that the Forest Service has been mainly working on erosion control, and I can't complain too much about that. For example, the tripod ledge is now a huge frech drain. This has always been a relatively easy trail, and it is now easier. There are fewer pot holes on the main entrance to and from, but it is still a wonderful scenic trail that any stock Toyota 4x4 can do with no worry about body damage.

There are still a number of vegitative branches that might cause a few Rocky Mountain pinstripes for those of you who are might be worried about your paint jobs.

The main thing we got out of this pre-run is that the hill climb out of the meadow is still lots of fun. Lots of whoop do doos, rocks and articlulation. Thus, the following photos are from that section.

Ricardo's rig is getting too close and the photog has to scamper off to the side.

Bottom line is, yes, the trail has been bulldozed, yes it is still fun. Parts of it are easier than before, parts of it are the same. There you have it, from Dave, Ricardo and Jeff.

Nice pictures Jeff. I'm glad you and Dave posted up and I had a chance to join in. It was very nice day to be out and I had a very good time. I'm looking forward to doing it again next week.

Thanks for pre-running the trail, Jeff, Ricardo and Dave. Sounds like the fun is intact. :)
