***SOLD****
A hectic job, a 3 year old son, limited garage space...it's time to sell my 1972 FJ40. Accelerates strongly, no mechanical issues.
Clean and mostly stock. A few mods to improve performance/safety/convenience:

-HEI distributor
-Bucket seats
-Three-point (shoulder) belts
-Four new BFG A/Ts
-Stock carb rebuilt by Jim C. (yes I have receipt!)
-All fluids changes
-Most hoses replaced
-Full tune-up
-Rear locker
-Roll bar
-Headers
-New muffler, gas tank, assorted other small parts

Frame is solid, left rear corner has moderate rust - see pics.

Runs very well, except in winter for a few minutes after start-up. This is presumably because previous owner added headers,
which disabled the carb preheat system.

Lots of pictures at http://gallery.me.com/pkomor3/100008

$5600. Includes full set of manuals.
PM me with questions/comments/photo requests.

That was the twin to my 40 when I bought it. Very nice rig, sorry you're selling. I hope it can go to someone in the club.

Here was mine 5 years ago:

Thanks. Yes, I would prefer to sell to someone on Rising Sun. I'll hold off posting to Craigslist for a few days and see what happens.

I'm not leaving the Land Cruiser world though...bought a 2003 100!

If anyone has any opinions about the price (too high?), let me know.

Nice looking 40 at a reasonable price. You should be able to find a buyer at that price.

I agree. :thumb:

And congrats on getting a 100. Lots of fun mods to come, no doubt.
