Ran down to hopefully fish and camp. well, the good news is that no one was there, and the areas is still lightly trafficked. The bad news is that the trails in that area are SEVERELY washed out. In fact, Metberry was closed after the slab. The slab area is completely washed out, and equal in difficulty now to the drop in on gold bar. I got each rear tire about 12" in the air on the decent. no mean feat with a 125" wheelbase.
So call the ranger's office before you plan on hitting the river.

Sweet. How were the fallen trees? Any big ones across the trail? Last October there were lots across the trail on Hackett Gulch and Longwater Gulch...

trails were cleared, but all the rain has been hard on the trails and roads down there. You can normally fly down 51 into divide (you know - the dirt road that connects all the trails and turns into 5) but it was rutted and cross washed something awful.
