My friends auto tranny may be shot. Anyone have a line on a used one?

NFW! I thought those were indestructible... the guys who have them won't shut up about it.

Anyway, I'd suggest calling Oleg (Alatao Auto) 303-340-5960 if he doesn't have one I bet he could find you one. hth..

Further discussion led to the fact that he had just had all the fluids (inlcuding tranny) changed and all of a sudden this problem started. I told him to take it into Boulder Toyota and have them check it out, odds are he just got screwed by the oil change guys.

It no workie too well with air in the system!

ive got a good tranny out of a 1990 fj62 (i think theyre the same) at proffitts cruisers.

The FJ 62 is the same model number, but the t-case is different. The FJ62 one is the splitcase style that needs to be rebuilt on the tranny. Where the 80 series t-case is a simple bolt on style with a male/female spud imput shaft style. It justs slips on and off after 6 big bolts are removed(with more wiring and such).
Something must be up like kevin say's. Later robbie in Tellico again.
