Don't plan any OHV vacations there. Don't think this sort of nonsense would stop in Minne-so-cold, either!!

URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT
Bill to Severely Limit 4x4 Truck Access Passes in Minnesota House; Moves to Senate
Legislation (H.F. 3116) that would limit modified 4x4 trucks to minimally maintained roads and to the area specifically designated for their use is scheduled to be voted on by the full Minnesota Senate. The bill was passed in the Minnesota House on Wednesday, May 17 with these damaging amendments and without an opportunity for public testimony and consideration.
We Urge You to Contact ALL Members of the Minnesota State Senate (List Attached) Immediately to Request Their Opposition to
H.F. 3116
H.F. 3116 would severely restrict 4x4 truck access to Minnesota hobbyists by prohibiting use of "trails," including those designated south of Highway 2 and those north of Highway 2 that are currently open to off-road use.
H.F. 3116 defines 4x4 trucks as 4-wheeled motor vehicles manufactured to operate on public roads and subsequently modified with special tires, suspension or other equipment.
H.F. 3116 unfairly discriminates against aftermarket modifications that provide additional functionality and comfort, while allowing this equipment if original from the factory.
Please contact members of the Minnesota State Senate by e-mail to request their opposition to this bill. Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Thank you for your immediate assistance.

Dear Senators:
I am writing to ask you to oppose Bill H.F. 3116.
This bill severely limits 4x4 truck access to areas that are open to them.
It would limit modified 4x4 trucks to minimally maintained roads and to the area specifically designated for their use.
It unfairly discriminates against aftermarket modifications that provide additional functionality and comfort, while allowing this equipment if original from the factory. Most manufacturers do not provide these types of equipment modifications from the factory.
4Wheeling is a very popular sport and is becoming more and more popular every year. Millions of dollars are spent in the U.S. every year to add modifications to trucks and 4wd vehicles that will allow the driver to challenge not only their vehicle, but also their driving skills.
I urge you to common sense and vote against this discriminate bill.
Thank you.

It was killed about 5 minutes into the comittee

Between the selection of the comittee and their vote was a day or two. Amazing how things can suddenly go our way. :)

Thank you for the support.:thumb:
We don't have many trails to start with in Minnesota so closing anything would really hurt.
