I have a used asin carb rebuilt by Jim C in 07! It is a 76 carb!
Ran great when I pulled her off! I do believe Jim C's rebuilt carbs are around 300$ I would like to get 125$ for it!!

Thanks

Has the carb been desmogged? IIRC corsair23 was looking into going back to Aisan - a JimC rebuilt linkage (versus cable) carb might just be the ticket.:thumb:

Paging corsair23, Paging corsair23 - Mr. Z your weber replacement may have arrived and awaits you:D.

I may be interested. Is it cable or linkage

When was it pulled off?
If nobody else takes it i will! I have a 76 40 that could use a rebuilt one...

Very tempting indeed...but I'll let others have first crack at it. From what I have read, going from Aisin to Weber involves quite a bit of work and going back is just as involved. Maybe I am misinformed but I'd like to see if I can get the Weber working good before I give up on it :hill:

Will this work in a 72 FJ40 w/ stock 1F engine? Not sure if I need linkage or cable??

1972 is cable from the factory. 1974 is when the linkage system came into use. Given the age and multiple previous owners, if you could post up a photo of what is in there now - we should be able to confirm if you are still stock. :thumb:

I know all the PO's and have all service records so I'm very certain that my carb is stock 1972 and I need a cable carb. Thanks Ricardo for the clarification. Sadly, I have to pass on this one.

Much easier to go back to Aisan from Weber than to go Weber from Aisan. I have helped folks in both operations.
