Hey guys,

I can't believe that I am typing this.

I am thinking about unloading my FJ40 to make room for another purchase I am considering as of late. I am still really torn on whether I am going to sell it, but I want to give you guys first shot. I am wrapping up some engine stuff (choke cable install and fine tuning the new carb) and may put it on Fleabay if none of you are interested if I go forward with this.

I have about $ 11K invested up to this point. I'd like to get that out of it. If I can't, then I will probably just hang on to it and put it in storage until I can spend more time on it. My long-term plan is to do a full frame-off resto.

If you have any interest, shoot me a PM. Please no tire kickers...I am busy as hell these days and don't have much time for showing cars!

Here are the specs:

May 1976 FJ40 from Arizona
71,000 original miles
original paint
no rust except minor surface rust
all records since 1980s
bone stock with exception of aux tank and center console
passed emissions with flying colors in 2010
100% original down to the tool bag and yellow jack handles
lots of new OEM parts
hard top included

I know that you can buy FJ40s all day long for $ 5K; this one is really for a purist or restorer.

And by the way, I'm not going anywhere. I've still got a 60 and 100 Series!

That is very tempting. Put me in line but it all depends on the outcome of my year end bonus. Should know by Friday.

Thanks. The pictures may make it look at little better than it really is...it has plenty of scratches and imperfections, but it is really cool because it is so original.

yer nuts. 40's hardly ever come along like that anymore. They do but it's becoming more and more rare.

That's why I am really torn on whether to sell it.

I bet I looked at 1,000 of these trucks online or in person before I came across this one. Took forever to find one without a blower, hood scoop, or a drag racing engine with a skull shifter.

Got the 40 carb stuff finished up; I am pretty sure that I am going to put her up on Ebay tomorrow evening...

Friday came and went so I am not sure what my employers plan is. I'll call you in a bit. Need to finish up with the paperwork at Stevenson.

Been a busy week, we bought an FJ Cruiser instead. Post up the ebay link when you have it. Good luck with the sale.

Congrats on the FJ Cruiser!

I got it cleaned up and took it for a long drive on Sunday and realized that I was crazy to sell it, so I am keeping her. I came to my senses; the "yer nuts" from wesintl really stuck with me!

Good move. That's a super clean, original FJ40.

Yeah, not sure about this one. He's either simply honestly confused, or he's trying to sneak some malicious code onto the site by pretending to be someone real. It's suspicious that he references NorCal but lives in New York. :confuse2:
