Cool ideas going on over at Toyota:

http://www.toyota.com/ideas-for-good/

Take a look at Toyota technologies, combine them with your idea of how they could make the world a better place, submit your idea, win!

Toyota is looking to apply their technology portfolio to a broade marketplace. Sounds like a smart idea.

I think the idea of the solar powered ventilation system is great - I always wondered why vehicles didn't have a little roof vent fan to pull out the hot air when you were parked...

Toyota technologies listed for consideration:
1. THUMS
2. Solar Ventilation System
3. Hybrid Synergy Drive
4. Advanced Parking Guidance System
5. Touch Tracer.

Do you have an idea how this tech could be used outside the automotive industry to better the world?

Check out the Toyota football helmet idea at the bottom of the page...

I submitted the diesel hybrid and this is what I got back:

"We're sorry, but your idea could not be accepted.

The Ideas for Good Challenge is about making the world a better place by using
Toyota technology to improve life beyond cars. Share a new, non-automotive idea
for your chance to be chosen.

To learn more, please review the rules and regulations of the challenge."

Figures...

If they got the diesel/hybrid idea submitted enought times, they would be fools to disregard.

Just sayin...

You guys know that Toyota N.A. has a person whose job it is to respond to diesel requests. A couple years ago, when I got ahold of her on the phone she said "oh, you're that guy from New Mexico."

Now that I've moved to Idaho Springs, I'll have to hassle them a bit more so they can update their files. ;)

"1-800-331-4331 then option #3"

That's the note I have saved.
