View Full Version : Wanted: FSM and more

Well I just bought a 1976 FJ40 with a 1980 2F engine. As I get
in to this project the list will grow - but here's what I already know
I'll need. I realize I can get this stuff from commercial vendors,
but I'd rather keep my $ local. So I'm happy to pay fair price
for the following; let me know if you have any of these to sell:
-FSM - chassis and body - for 1976
-FSM - 2F - for 1980
-FSM - emissions - for 1980
-FSM - maintenance procedures - for 1976 and 1980
-Left and right rear bumperettes
-Those weird little round rear lights that sit above and outside the rear bumper
-All tune-up parts
More to come. Thanks.

are you going to keep the nickname?
I really liked Jeremy's rig, couldn't swing the coin.
Congratulations, glad to hear it will stay in the cruiser community.

I think Mud has some links for FSM's. Go poke around there for a bit.

Yup, part of the deal with Jeremy (previous owner) was that I would
keep the moniker 'Otis.' So that's still the name.
I'll check MUD for FSMs. Thanks for the suggestion.
Add to the list: seat belt needs help, as it's frayed. The mechanical
parts of the seat belt assembly are fine - I wonder if it's possible to
replace just the webbing. But then how do you sew it on securely
at the ends? Suggestions welcome.

Personally I'd just go new. Lots of places sell seat belts for 40s depending on what you are looking for. SOR and CCOT sell some that you know will fit (since they've already figured it out :hill:) or you can buy other versions online based on what you want.
Same goes for the other stuff if no one here has what you need. SOR and CCOT are just a couple of places that should have what you need/want and often at varying levels of quality depending on your budget.
I think those "weird little round rear lights" that you mention are actually just reflectors.

I've got a 2F FSM dated 1976 you can have. It's kind of rough, but it's free. If you don't want it I will be happy to let someone else have it.
