This is it, the one you've all been waiting for: We will be installing Ricardo's new 1.5F motor back in to "Mini Mule". We'll be in the heated shop out behind my house, feel free to come and watch (bring beer) or better yet, lend a hand.

We will be selling commemorative tokens of this remarkable event (all proceeds go to the shop owner :D) so you will have a keepsake to show your grandchildren someday so you can say "I was there". Don't miss the chance to hear the throaty roar of this F motor breath it's first breath :thumb:

I'm thinking we'll start around 9 AM and go until we got this muther runnin':hill:

:thumb:9:00 works for me to start. I last drove the Mini Mule on November 14 and am looking forward to doing so again. Having done the install this past summer, there should not be any broken bolts, minimal dirt and grime as it goes back in. If you've got time, stop on by.

I am fairly certain, the new motor is going to fire right up:thumb:.

How long do you think it will take? I might be able to swing by tomorrow late afternoon?

I've put my extra jets into my rig for the next time I see you.

My bet is it will be running by 4 PM at the latest.

I've got a function in the evening that will put me at a "hard stop" at 4:00. I am thinking we will be done in time.

We ran in to some delays, nothing major, but the motor is now nicely nestled in it's compartment. Ricardo is going to finish things up tomorrow and get it running.

I'm going wheeling so if anyone is available to help I'm sure he would appreciate it.

I enjoyed hanging out with you guys today. Randy, that is a hell of a cool shop! Ricardo, thanks for the jet...I may be back tomorrow for reassembly if time permits.

Wowzers, it can be a big time sink when the first engine mount you put in place is the wrong one:o.

The engine is nicely nestled in place. We filled it with oil and ran a drill to confirm it had pressure, rechecked the valve lash, stabbed the dizzy and then ran the starter and confirmed oil is making it all the way to the valve train:thumb:.

Tomorrow morning, I'll hook up fuel, mainfold/header, carb, radiator (coolant), alternator, drive shafts and then fire it up.

Do we have a strong-running 40 on the road again?

We got it running tonight, it sounds good. He has a bad starter to deal with and a minor exhaust leak. One more evening of work and we should have the loose ends covered and have it on the road.

Yes, it runs!!!!

I'm am worn out from a couple of days of wrenching. I was filling the engine with coolant and putting the bib on when Steve, Michelle, Dee and Randy got back from wheeling. Steve was the firs to fire it up. The timing was a bit retarded, but as soon as we advanced it it fired up. We ran it for 25 minutes to break it in and just as we were going to fire it up again to fine tune the starter fried.
