The new web-based system for Slickrock Campground http://www.slickrockcampground.com/reservations.html makes picking your spot easier than before. You can see what sites are available for what days.

Post your campsite here. I'll update as we go. This is Unofficial and Use at your own risk!

************* I'll stop updating 4/30 - gotta pack. This has been great. *************

True about the site size...But we like the proximity to the playground for the kids thus always getting site #182 even if the stink from the dumpster can get a bit strong :hill:

#182, I'm your huckleberry... I need the extra space for two 80's to fit, sharing it with Trapper50Cal. I wanted #162 but it was taken back in November already. Porter will be happy, close to his potty area.

#180 is taken by John Dill's and family from Durango

Carlton, I always liked 112-121 for tents. It's close to everything/everybody/bathroom and they have decent space. 112 is my favorite spot but I won't be in it this year.

As for lodging I will be in Cabin #12. Close enough to help Steve Rudy with his Trail Boss duties.

As for wings. My wife is from Buffalo so I just might participate this year. We'll see.

Dan I hope you choose to keep developing this map. It would be a big help in locating people this year. That is always something we have struggled with over the years. The where is he camped question.

Cheeseman
01-13-2011, 04:36 PM
I was also going to say when I was staying in a tent I tried a few spaces but ended up staying in the sights along the north wall. usually somewhere in #'s 16-20 or so. They are the biggest and deepest spaces. And usually there was someone who hopped in with another tent. Did that for many years. Sometimes I had to pay the rv rate but I didn't mind for the space. Always a little quieter over there too.

Site #83 is reserved for the CM Hospitality site. We are allowed to use the open space next to it but cannot put a fire in that area. The campsite has a fire ring so we will build our community fire there. :-)

Caroline and Hants reserved sites #163 and #164 for our Kimberly trailer.

Cabins #13 and #14 are reserved for the CM office.

Thank you for posting a map of the campground and who has reserved the spots. Huge help!

It shows that is it sold out.
BTW, what is the policy of coming and going into the camp ground if I stay somewere else?

Also, it says the site is for up to two vehicles. Anyone has already a site on Sunday night and Monday night they want to share? I sleep in the LX450 and all I need space for is to park the LX450.

You can come and go as you please, lots of folks stay other places but come into the campground to register, go through tech inspection, attend vendor night and chat with the trail boss, etc.

Are you saying they show the entire campground as being sold out or just a particular spot you wanted?

I have to think we can find you a place to park one way or the other in the campground if that is your preference.

The type:
"No Hook Up -Vehicle or Tent Camping only! Complete with Covered Picnic Table, BBQ Grill and Fire Rings" shows sold out for the events dates.

It is open for after the event, but I am not sure where I will be so don't want to commit ahead of time.

So get a spot with an electrical hook up, it's like $10 more. That way you could have a little space heater in your vehicle to stay toasty at night or to run a coffee maker in the morning :thumb:

Via facebook, Metal Tech will be at CM2011!
sadly Mark reported that Slickrock was full up and he will be at The Oasis.
If any spaces open up, please call MT. I believe he will be pulling his 40something foot trailer, but thats just my assumption.
Thanks to all who make this great event happen!

I will be giving up my site at Slickrock. I believe it was site #30. I have it reserved for May 5th-8th.

I wanted to offer it up to a member if anyone wants it. My kids decided that they want to go as well as my buddy. So, I will be bringing their quad, and he is bringing his bikes as well. So, we will be camping at area BFE or close to that instead for the event so they can ride their bikes around camp.

If anyone wants it, please PM me and I will try to switch over the reservation when I cancel it.

Scotty, If they will let us take over the spot that would be great. We need it the 4-7th but we can see if we can work with Slickrock on that on our end. If not no problem we will be down at the Oasis. email me: mark at metaltech4x4.com or phone 503-822-1111 (ext. 1)

Thank you.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the event this year! Mark

We'll be sleeping in the fjc, so if you want to, you can pitch a tent at our site.
Will need to confirm dates, but I think it was Thurs, Fri & Sat nights.

If anyone has room, let me know. I need a place to put my tent and don't really need an entire space. I'll make it legit with Slick Rock by adding another tent to the invoice and split the fees with you. Thank you in advance.

Mike -- I'm in #32 -- It's described as a 50 Ft full hook up spot. I'll be roof camping on my FJ, so there should be plenty of space for a tent. I just need a spot for the ladder, and misc stuff that I don't need on the trails.

Anyone interested in spot #181?

Looks like we won't be pulling out the camper this year and will be staying in a hotel if we are able to make it to CM11 at all. Before I call to cancel the reservation, let me know if you are interested in the site.

There are still plenty of tent sites left and even a few cabins.. a reg tent site goes for $23 and a double goes for $29.. Let me know if someone wants to split the bill for a double.. We could both save $$ (seems to be a trend this yr!) :thumb:

Just freed up #74. We'll be at the Hyatt in town, the one with the waterfall, I think.

I just cancelled my site. So, a 50ft pull through is available at site #30.

I will be camping at area BFE so my kids can ride their quads.

So, is there any sort of master list of spots that might be open due to cancellation? After years of trying to get my wife to go to Moab & see the place, she just went there last weekend with her Mom (Mom's a naturalist & always wanted to go). Now, she understands why it is so cool & is totally down with going back at any time, including potentially next weekend, during Cruise Moab.
We aren't signed up to be a part of the fun, but if we could score a camp site for Friday & Saturday night, it would be sweet to at least be part of the fun around camp. I could also volunteer some to help out if you guys still have spots open.

The other question is, are dogs allowed at Slickrock? We would possibly be bringing our three with us (St. Bernard, English Bulldog, Great Dane - all frendly & we do bag their poop). we could leave them & have a friend take care of them, but they do love camping. All we would really need is a tent spot, and we might just sleep in the troopy, so possibly even just a parking space that is legal.
Thanks,
Abe

This thread is the best we have going for what Cruise Moab attendees are doing. The campground website has a way to search availabilities. Often people have extra room at their sites. There is a extra per-person fee. I don't recall the amount but its modest and also probably on the website.

Dogs are allowed. They must be kept on leash and are not allowed in cabins. There is a dog walk area. I have brought my dogs many times but am leaving them home this year because they don't get the best part of camping - running free. Dogs are not allowed in the National parks (Arches, Canyonlands).

Chris Hatfield and I are planning to leave on Saturday, so you could get our cabin for Saturday night.

I am also heading back Saturday as soon as I get off the trail I am leading. Taking the wife and mother in law to brunch Sunday morning.
