View Full Version : FJ40 Factory Power Steering

Does anybody have factory FJ40 power steering on their truck? If so, I'm hoping to find out where the power steering cooling loop mounts to the frame. Please post up a description or picture please? :D
I could only find this picture which clearly shows where it goes on the right side of the frame, but the left is the same way, just on the other side.
Hope that helps! IIRC, the other trucks didn't have a hole there, so when we installed this setup onto my friend's '73, I just drilled and tapped some holes for those mounting tabs.

Sweet! Thanks Dan! Do you happen to have or would you be able to get a picture of the other end? That helps me get started though...so you're saying that pre-'79 FJ40s don't have those holes drilled and tapped in the frame? That makes sense, seeing as p/s was never an option in those years and they wouldn't need those holes...

Matt......... I have factory PS on my '79 40. You are welcome to take a look at it if that would help.

Thanks Ken, I'm in no rush. If you do happen to have a picture of the driver's side end of the cooling loop that would save me a trip. Otherwise I'll try to bring a camera to February's meeting and hope to see you there with the 40 :thumb:
