Hello. I'm Bruce and I'm in Eldorado Springs.

Just picked myself up a 1984 FJ60. Looking forward to getting her back into shape. I used to drive a '99 Tacoma with an OME lift running 32's. About 2 years back when gas hit $4 a gallon I had to sell her. I had a long commute to a crappy job and she needed front end work I couldn't afford at the time. :(

I missed having a truck and always wanted a FJ60. The 60 fits the bill for me. Solid axles all around and enough room for me, my dog and all my gear.

I'm looking forward to learning how the 60 operates and how to do most of my own repairs. Right now I've been working on getting her emissions ready. Need to swap out the clutch master and slave next. PO didn't maintain her very well and the PO before that was a "mechanic" AKA Bubba. Hoping to meet some fellow Cruiser enthusiasts who can help me learn more about my wagon.

The old.

Welcome. Cool flatbed on that Tacoma! There are several of us in and around Boulder if you want some folks to "kick tires" with.

I'll definitely need that. This is my first carbureted vehicle so I have a lot to learn. Taking her in tomorrow to get the carb and such checked out. She needs a lot of gas to start and idles low once fired up. Idles high when warm. Bled the clutch today. It was like priming a Coleman stove before. Going to replace the master and slave next week.

I have a lot of cheap easy upgrades in mind already.

I'm new as well, but welcome aboard! :thumb: I've spent a little time working and driving my Dad's old 60. They're cool old rigs. Watch out for misplaced vacuum lines and cracked intake manifolds. ;)

Thanks again for the welcome.

Today I got the carb, timing and choke adjusted. Choke actually works now!

Turns out my thermostat was fried. I swapped it out after work.

My cat is also toast. Instead of paying the $375 I was quoted for a non OEM direct fit cat I decided to have a local shop build me a complete exhaust system.

So tomorrow my 10 days will be up and I'll head to emissions ready to rock.
