If the 40th anniversary was 1997, how can the 60th be 2011? Must be George Bush mathematics at work....
Maybe the 40th anniversary Land Cruisers were based on the first one to be sold in the U.S.? :confused: I dunno.

I think that's correct. the 1997 was the 40th for the US market. The 60th that they are badging for UK only is 60 years from the 1951 Toyota BJ. I'm sure they can come up with a 60th from 1954 when the first badging of "Land Cruiser" was used.

It is. Australia has a completely different 40th anniversary edition (but they do have the antique sage pearl) that was both 1997 and 1998. Also they had a 50th anniversary edition in 2000. I don't get that one... They are also doing the 60th along with the UK.
People will believe anything as long as you say it convincingly.
