I picked up Slee's new rear dual swing out for the 80 series.

A couple of observations:

This thing is unbelievably stout and ridiculously well built. The quality is absolutely top notch. The tolerances are dead on. The engineering is excellent.

So, next up is the roof rack, which is in the works shortly, so I can have a legitimate excuse to have the ladder swing out (which I actually am more interested in for the jerry-can set up Christo is developing) ...

enough :blah: here are some pictures

I was a little concerned before mounting it about the weight.
I was thinking I might have to bump up the rear spring weight since I'm running standard OME mediums in the rear.

I am running heavier springs in the front because of all the weight on the front, and even with the heavier springs in the front, before this bumper went on I had a lot of stink bug...

So I took some suspension clearance measurements before/during/after installation.

1. Initially with the stock bumper, spare tire winch and cross member, tow hitch, and a pintle I had 22.5" of clearance from middle of rear tire hub to bottom of the flare.
2. I took everything off that was coming off and had 23" of clearance
3. After installing the new Slee I had 22.25" of clearance mid-hub to flare.

I was astounded that I netted only a 1/4" loss of clearance over the stock set up. But I guess between all the brackets, and the spare tire setup (surprisingly heavy), I apparently took off a lot more weight than I thought I was going to.

Another good thing is I gained a lot of clearance by removing all that stuff that was hanging down

Here's the side view; it's level now :) :

Very nice looking set up. That first scratch may hurt a little but you will be protected.

I agree - nice looking 80 and a nice bumper.

Are those Duratrac's you are running? Thoughts?

Thanks everybody for the nice words!

they are duratracs, you are correct.

So far I am a big big fan. I don't have enough mileage on them to get a good feel for wear, only about 4k, but so far so good. I like how they handle the varying road conditions in town. They are really good in the snow/rain/ice. I also really like how non-loud they are, not exactly quiet, but non-loud.

They aren't as quiet as the stock road tires I had, but they are actually really close to as quiet.

I seem to see those tires all over the place now. Either I'm just noticing them more and more, or maybe the tire shops are pimpin' them pretty hard. Or Goodyear found a niche for themselves.
