hey there!

just got my front axle on my fj60 rebuilt and i'm looking for somewhere close to take her up wheeling, trouble is I'm kind of a noob and I don't know of anywhere close that's open this time of year. I want some thing pretty easy, as I'll probably be going my self, that is unless anybody else wants to go! any ideas?
thanks!

I bet all the snow is melted out of Lefthand canyon. :o

Seriously though, you might try some of the trails to the South. In the Rampart range, or maybe Metberry or China Wall? Most trails really close by are all snowed in.

There's a big group running China Wall next Saturday, it's the Front Range 4x4 Anniversary run so there'll as much socializing as wheeling. There will be between 30 - 40 trucks and 100 or so people. You, and anyone else, is welcome to join in the fun but be aware that's a lot of trucks for China Wall. On the + side you could also meet some good people, have plenty of good spotters, tips and such and not get into any trouble like you can if wheeling alone.

Rampart Range and Dakan Road are still closed. Barbour Fork is probably closed if I had to guess. Not sure what your other options would be...Slaughterhouse probably has plenty of dry sections. Just know it's not advisable to go by yourself, so post up when you think you might go and see if there's anyone who can go with you :thumb:

Just so you guys are aware, a group of "30-40 trucks and 100 or so people" will be in need of a special use permit if on the National Forest. Consider the impact a group that big is going to have, be smart.
