just a question - why is it so early this year? I thought it was usually in July.

it's usually close to the summer solstice which is june 21 this year.

guess you're right - in the past it's ranged from June 10 to July 14 looks like. I guess the couple of times I was able to go it was in July.

When I started the run back in 2001, it was in August, but we moved it earlier to take advantage of more daylight. I usually prefer late June. Some years, we have had conflicts with other runs, so we scheduled it in July. It really doesn't matter. Honestly, June works better for my schedule than July this year.

Father's Day is June 19th this year. I doubt I'll have Charlotte ready to go by then, but I could probably take either the 45 or the 60 on Slaughterhouse.

I was up there two weekends ago and the trail is still fun in the usual spots. Except they took the very last obstacle out. That one is on the hill side with the big rock that causes many to lift the drivers wheel.

Great trail still.

I was up there that Saturday also, I thought I missed the last feature...Did they fill it or re-route us? It was snowing like crazy the day I was there, still a pretty fun outing.

Looks like it was filled in and the big rock was moved.

It was nice meeting you guys in the June meeting. My wife Teresa and myself (James) would like to come along for this one. I just scheduled a day off work so we're in. Looking forward to it.

My rig is a '95 TLC totally stock though... I'll get a CB radio before the trip with a good antenna.

Sounds great! You can tell your wife that it won't quite be so heavily all male at the run if she attends. There are usually more girls on the runs.

That's a really good idea. You miss out on some of the action if you don't have a radio. :thumb:

Took a little pre-run up to Slaughterhouse this afternoon. Trail looks great, about the same as last year. Totally dry excepting the small creek crossings in the bottom. Picked up about 15 beer cans and bottles. Only saw a couple people on atv's and one camp with a couple of Toyota pickups.

Saw a little fox toting some dinner:

We should be good to go on the 22nd. :thumb:

This FNG will be there, looking forward to meeting you guys and checking out all the cruisers. :D Technically I'm on vacation so I'm blowing off work anyway.

I'll be in my 8/76, FJ40. Only now it has KM2's and a front bumper.
