View Full Version : 1982 BJ42 in Boulder

Edit: SOLD! Headed to Michigan on July 2.

We're expecting a little one this year, so the BJ42 won't work for us anymore.

My favorite part of the truck is the Aqualu storage tailgate. They're fantastic. I'm going to need a Wagon Gear replacement for our 60 shortly, I think. :)

I've got a thread (http://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/491279-1982-bj42-boulder-co.html) with details over on Mud, and pictures are on my site, here (http://polarweasel.org/photos/v/other/wheels/bj42-for-sale/).

$5800 includes a DIY turbo kit with brand-new 13BT exhaust manifold and gasket, a custom-machined adapter plate (with an ISSPRO thermocouple to mount in it) for a Garrett turbo from a Mercedes diesel, and threaded oil fitting plates. Everything you need, except your oil lines and two turbo gaskets (one CT26, one T25).

Willing to trade for a nice 60, or maybe even an 80 (not sure I'm into 80s, but try me!).

I hit you up on Mud, but figured I would hit you here too. I'm interested & in Boulder Canyon. Is there any way I could come check out your truck this afternoon?

I hit you back by email through Mud. Gimme a call and let's meet up!

Good to meet you and your wife yesterday, Abe. This truck would look really nice parked next to your troopie. ;)

I am told a deposit is on its way to me from Michigan... I will update here in a couple of days.

Wow. That was quick.

Wow. That was quick.

Yes it was. 48 hours makes me a happy camper. :)

And $5800 makes someone else a happy camper. That's a steal for a BJ-42. Definitely the way to move the cruiser out of your driveway!

I don't know if I've ever wanted a spare $5800 lying around more than I did when I saw you post it for sale...

I'd have vastly preferred to keep it in Colorado, but mostly I wanted to sell it so I can get into a 60 for summer wheeling, and get going on fixing our other vehicles up before the baby shows up!

Wish I'd posted it a while ago, though. I just missed exactly the 60 I wanted in Glenwood Springs last week. If anyone knows of a nice, mildly-built (no more than 33s) late-85 through 87 FJ60 around, let me know!

(Open to 4BTs and Isuzus, of course...)

Congrats on the new kid, man! I think you should think again about an 80 series.. a really excellent family vehicle.

I dunno... Coil springs and lockers, I definitely like. Computers and excess complexity, not so much. A coil-sprung diesel 60 would be pretty great. :)
