We did it! Rocky should be arriving home any minute with his white 80 (dubbed Snow White by his 2 year old daughter when he got it). The truck looked just like it did last weekend. We put a new battery in it and it started right up. It started spewing tranny fluid from a low pressure line to the radiator, but Rocky drove it right back up on the trail. :thumb:

We got down to the Webster Pass saddle and Ige helped him replace the tranny line with a piece of hose I had. We threw a couple quarts of Dexron into the tranny. Then Rocky just drove it out to Montezuma. :hill:

Oh, Ige had a moment on the "challenge" route above timberline but we attached her winch to my truck and she got out of it.

Rocky and Al brought up their neighbor's stock Taco. Al drove and it was the first time he ever wheeled as a driver. He did great and got the Taco up with no body damage.

Amazing that the truck is all in one piece having been left for so long. That it started right up is no surprise. That's great and congrats! There is a Toyota Trails story in this.
Ige, you are such a poser. I see your response to my comment in the second picture. :D

Awesome indeed.

Just can't beat N-D electrical components, that's for sure! So much time, so many temperature changes, and so much snow/water and it still starts up!

Wonderful ending! I'm glad nobody messed with it! Hopefully the interior isn't trashed out for having so much water in it for so long - any thoughts on how that will end up?

The interior was bone dry. Rocky's friends who went up and shoveled it out during the winter had put several open boxes of baking soda in it. It didn't stink at all. It looked perfectly fine.

Dan and Ige were indispensable, so many thanks to both.

Not only did she drive out with nothing more than a new battery and a "hose-job", had a victory lap of driving around for 203 miles as if she never missed a step, including an airport run to pick up my daughters who were pumped the family favorite was home. I still can't get the grin off my face.

Thank you again to everyone. This forum kicks ass!!!

As the copilot on the adventure, and for the opportunity to hit the trail for the first time behind the wheel, I cannot thank Dan and Ige enough for their help. We had a great time and were able to bring the cruiser down in showroom shape!! Thanks guys and thanks to Rising Sun! I am hooked!
