They are really good! What is expected from a Patrol member is EXACTLY what we as Rising Sun members already do! The difference is, every hour you spend on a Colorado trail can be logged as volunteer time and you can report any illegal use or idiots you encounter. Plus, for Patrol members only you have access to a data base that stays currant as to trail conditions and activity as you also make quick and very easy reports on the trails your on. Sorry, there is no birthday cake and party favors afterwards but those of us whom appeciate the priveledge of using our public lands will be rewarded differantly!

How long is the meeting, is it worth inviting them to our meeting?

The class is an hour long + chat time. I highly recommend it for RS members. Matt said he would be delighted to come to an RS meeting. I'm sure that once an officer invites him on behalf of the club he will schedule it in.

I emailed him once to see if he'd be interested in coming to a meeting, I'll shoot him another email. When I talked to him in person at the BRD meeting he said he'd love to stop by, so it probably got missed in his inbox or something.

He's very busy with the classes right now as he's the only one doing them!

Missed last night will have to go to the Centennial one instead. Bummer too because last nights meeting was only 15 minutes from the house.

Thanks for the great reception last night at the club meeting! It was great to meet all of you. Everyone's willingness to get involved with our program was extremely encouraging.

I also would like to thank you for the generous offer to hold a club-wide training over the winter.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at Matt@staythetrail.org

I was not aware we had to go to a class every year to keep this active.

Greetings-
We wanted to thank you for participating in the Colorado Trail Patrol program. From our information, it appears that you went through the training session 12 months ago and your access to the database is about to expire. Since the time of your training, the program has grown to become the Stay The Trail Ambassadors. We have added a few new aspects including trail maintenance and educational outreach efforts. It has been shown that peer-to-peer education is incredibly effective at changing behavior. Because of this, we would like your help to promote responsible trail use. Our training will give you the tools and techniques to be effective anytime you meet someone on the trail.

We have also started training our volunteers using an online video conferencing system. Allowing anyone who is interested to be trained from their own home computer. Just like the Trail Patrol program, this program allows you to assist trails anytime you head out.

I would encourage you to take a look at our new website www.StayTheTrailAmbassadors.org.

If you are interested in participating, please look at our Calendar page and click on a date that works for you. There is a registration link for each date. Our next training session is on January 30th at 6:30pm.

Please email or call us if you have any questions or would like additional information.
