Hey does anyone know what size that big a$$ nut is on the crank pulley? And how do I get it loose without turning the engine over. I have the head off. Thanks for any help. Steve

Should be 46mm.
I got mine off by having someone stand on the brakes and then I hit it with a 1/2" impact wrench.

I couldn't easily find a 46mm, so I have a 1 13/16". The ratchet is a 3/4 so I also have an adapter to use 1/2" ratchet/breaker bar.
I've had great success with an 1/2" impact wrench. When the impact is not available, I've used a small ratcheting strap wrapped around the pulley and attached to the frame to keep the engine from spinning while working the socket with a big breaker bar.

You can't fit an impact wrench without taking the whole bib off, even the hinge gets in the way. But once you get it loose a regular ratchet works just fine.
I used my big a$$ed socket with 1/2-3/4 adapter to turn my engine to TDC when I changed out my distributor a couple weeks ago. It is real easy to get to from underneath.

If you run a bunch of extensions and bend the bib a bit you can. :hill:
