Hello, I am just starting my Land Cruiser adventure after crossing over from Land Rovers. I am looking at possibly buying an LX 450.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=306136429&dealer_id=54958003&car_year=1997&systime=&doors=&model=LX450&search_lang=en&start_year=1995&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&search_type=used&distance=200&min_price=&rdm=1318695852747&drive=&marketZipError=false&advanced=&fuel=&keywords_display=&sownerid=765463&lastBeginningStartYear=1981&end_year=1997&showZipError=n&make2=&certified=&engine=&dma=COLORADO_SPRINGS-PUEBLO&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&body_code=0&isFlashPlugin=true&transmission=&default_sort=&max_mileage=&color=&address=80916&sort_type=priceDESC&max_price=&make=LEXUS&seller_type=b&num_records=25&cardist=66&standard=false&showphototab=true

The dealer says that the previous owner was a member of a Cruiser club, but didn't know more than that. It looks like it may have been built pretty well and I am wondering if anyone here recognizes it.
I am going to go look at it today. Does it look like a fair price?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Never mind. It was a wasted trip. It needed way to much work and they wanted way too much for it.

Don't know the rig. Plan on spending another $2500 for lockers and $1000 to re-gear if you really want to wheel it. No winch.

Nakman on this forum has a well built 80 that's he thinking about selling.

Welcome to the forum.

Not to mention $1500 for the headgasket. It looked like it was ready to go at any minute... the A/C didn't work and the temperature was rising in the short 10 minute ride I took with it. I guess I should learn my lesson and not bother with a dealer.
Thanks for the links. The Slee newbie guide was/is very helpful. I keep refering to it as I look for my Cruiser.
I'll take a look at Nakman's rig. I'm trying to decide for sure if I want to start from scratch and build my own, or go with one build by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm kinda leaning towards looking for a built one, or at least partially build.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to my time with cruisers.
