View Full Version : Blitz Can Spouts

Last fall just before the Maze run I had to scramble to get gas cans. I know that the nato style is preferred but I ended up getting plain old red Blitz cans from 4WPW due to time constraints. The only problem is that I could only find them with this type of spout:

This spout is an annoying pain in the rear, besides being made of breakable plastic. Thanks to the EPA for such a wise use of my tax dollars in mandating this "solution". I scoured the web for a metal spout, but Blitz discontinued them so they are apparently like gold to some people :

One day this summer I noticed a metal spout on the Blitz can in Stevinson Toyota's parts department. It is on the wall to the left of the counter as part of a display. I asked the parts guy how much it was because I wanted it. He went on line (because it wasn't in their system) and found the website above. He offered to sell it to me for $75.00. That was with the club discount. I deferred, since I had only paid a little more than that for 2 complete cans.

Well, recently I stumbled across a source in Colorado Springs that is selling them for $9.99 each. I ordered 2 yesterday and it came to $32.97 with shipping and tax. They arrived today(!) and they are exactly what I wanted. If anybody needs them, here is the link:

The only minor disappointment is that they came with a little plastic cap instead of the screw on metal cap shown on their website. Didn't really matter to me, I am happy as hell because I get to throw out that pathetic EPA mandated plastic junk. :hill:

Nice find Dan and solution

I have been searching as well and found what I wanted at Grainger. I bought two cans

The spout fits in the can with the cap on tight

Nice find, both of you! I think I'll go by Grainger tomorrow and order a couple of those cans.

Make sure to avoid the temptation to tighten the spout by twisting the nozzle... it will rip off the base of the spout. DAMHIK.

Good to know, I am in need of another one. :D

If you can't find spouts don't shy away from the Super Siphon which will transfer 5 gal in less than two minutes.

I don't even have a spout for my Nato cans and for some weird reason my Scepter spout leaks when used on one of my Scepter cans so I often don't even bring the Scepter spout on trips.

The Army Surplus store at Pecos and HWY 36 has new NATO cans with locking pin. BVB bought 2 last weekend and notice today when I was there they had 4 more. 40 bucks I paid that much for my used ones

I would buy the old style nato cans or the scepter. You can still find them. I would stay away from those new plastic spouts and nozzles. They are just waiting to leak..
