I seldom read or post in chat, but just had to share. We get lots of deer and elk all the time, so often I seldom pay a lot of attention to them, except "Get out of my way! I'm late for work!". But I happened to have my camera in my pocket, so here are a few pictures of some of my friends. I took these yesterday afternoon.

What are those pink critters :D I love it when they come down for the winter and they are so tame. We get them here but not as often as we would like.

Nice shots:thumb:

We picked up the pink flamingos at the farmer's market in Conifer this summer. They got little spinney doohickies that go around when it's windy...

Actually they don't care what time of year, they are in our yard pretty much every day all year. Following is from June before last...

Everyone who has a garden in my neighborhood has deer fence around them.

Pretty kids.

Woke up to a doe and buck munching on some low evergreens right out my window. Beautiful!

There are many garden plants that deer and elk avoid. Just gotta be smart about it. Unless you like serving salad, nothing wrong with that.

Oh and I do have to say, having deer and elk (and foxes) visit makes me a bit ambivalent about big game hunting!!!!! The truth is, I like hunting mostly because I like seeing them in their habitat, in their zone. Now all I have to do is look out my window.

5 bulls cracking antlers at 6AM Monday... and bedded down 10 yards from the dog run. Needless to say, once the dogs did their duty and sniffed and figgered out what was in the dark so close, we kinda woke up the neighborhood...

Don't have to live in the mountains to see deer in your backyard - these were in the greenbelt behind our house right smack dab in the middle of Highlands Ranch. They visit every night and devastated my wifes garden....

Saw a Lynx up at the cabin about a month ago - Wow...what a cool animal!
By the way - thanks for dropping off the shocks!

I had peeping Toms last night!!!

Actually, probably peeping Thomasinas. Which is better I suppose.

Deer and elk tracks all over my mini-lawn RIGHT next to the bedroom window. Sorry I missed the visitors, we would have had a great time laughing and scratching!

Actually, you would not BELIEVE all the tracks all over the yard. Must be hunting season, they all wanna sleep in the basement.
